Wedding went swimmingly well, and I promise to write about it all in greater detail soon.
Some minor housekeeping, my hosting provider is upgrading the server I use, which requires some behind the scenes changes. This shouldn’t affect anything, but if the site goes down for a day or two, rest assured it is only temporary.

Erica Baxter is marrying a corpse, according to The Age online:
Six feet under and still messing with his son’s wife life; quite an achievement there from Packer Snr.
Update 21:24:
This has now been corrected, probably by a belatedly-eager subbie, but I like to think my naming and shaming may have been the cause.

Wedding in two weeks, am so excited, really can’t wait! Disappointingly, some close friends are unable to make it and I’m really quite annoyed about it to be honest.
We’re having a small-ish reception which means we needed to choose those friends we’d invite, and had to be a little ruthless about it.
I invited four friends from my time at uni, and I did want to invite a few more but couldn’t. Of those friends, one rang early on to say they couldn’t make it for work reasons as they are 2IC and their boss was going to be away and that they had to run the business. That’s fine, I understood and appreciated the early advice. However, two others who replied saying they were coming, are now not coming and I only found out today. It still leaves me with one attending though so that’s pleasing. What shits me is that it’s now only two weeks to the wedding. Because others I’d invite are scattered interstate, I now can’t give them much notice at all to travel here for a Friday wedding.
I’m also really annoyed because the three that can’t come were some of my closest friends at uni but they won’t be at my wedding. It may be harsh to say this, but if they won’t make the effort to come to the most important day of my life, should I even have them in my life now?
Am going to have a coffee and try and calm down, but I am really quite pissed off at the moment.

Six senior Irish Government Ministers have been forced to call in the army after spending a sweaty half-hour trapped in a tiny lift.
Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern, who spent 30 minutes cooped up with cabinet colleagues, including Finance Minister Brian Cowen, said they had passed the time with “all sorts of jokes” but the atmosphere soon soured.
More here.
…because our Cabinet would never be seen together any place where a camera wasn’t.
